About Shanta Kumari Khatri

I am Shanta Kumari Khatri, PhD, a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Rural Development at Prithvi Narayan Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. I have over 20 years of teaching and research experience in sociology, with a particular focus on gender, social inclusion, caste and ethnicity, climate change, disaster vulnerability, rural development, and qualitative research.

My research explores how social structures and inequalities shape people's everyday lives, particularly those of women, Dalit communities, and other marginalized groups. I am especially interested in gender equality, climate justice, work–life balance, social resilience, and sustainable development in Nepal.

I have published research in national and international peer-reviewed journals and actively contribute to the academic community as a reviewer for international journals. I welcome opportunities for interdisciplinary research collaboration, scholarly exchange, and knowledge sharing with researchers and practitioners worldwide.
