About Shashi Kant Bhatia
I am an Associate Professor at Konkuk University, South Korea, with expertise in environmental biotechnology, industrial microbiology, and sustainable bioprocessing. My research focuses on biowaste valorization, wastewater treatment, resource recovery, bioenergy production, bioplastics, microbial biotechnology, and circular bioeconomy solutions. I am particularly interested in developing sustainable technologies for converting waste streams into valuable biofuels, biochemicals, and biomaterials while addressing environmental challenges such as pollution and climate change.
With over 300 publications, 15 patents, and more than 20,000 citations, I actively collaborate with researchers, industry partners, and policymakers worldwide to advance innovative and scalable environmental solutions. My interests also include contaminant remediation, microplastics, biochar applications, and emerging technologies for sustainable environmental management.
