About Silvia de Ruiter

I am an experienced project manager and global health professional with nearly two decades of expertise in health promotion, international network coordination, including  the Schools for Health (SHE) network until 2017, and education-focused public health initiatives. I have  a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Twente (the Netherlands).

I currently serve as Project Manager at the UNESCO Chair Global Health & Education, where I have worked since 2018. In this role, I lead efforts to build and sustain a global community of practice, manage complex international projects, drive communications and fundraising, and oversee administrative and financial operations – all in service of the Chair's vision of a world where people of all ages, and communities, have the conditions to learn and thrive, and where – in turn – quality education and health services support life-long well-being. I organise the online Global Community Health Annual Workshop of the UNESCO Chair which attracts over 500 participants each year.
