Oedipus Rex in the Genomic Era

This book uses Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex as a lens through which to consider personal, legal, and ethical implications of advances in genetic science.

As we entered the Genomic Era, we find ourselves, in Sophocles' words, 'on the perilous edge of knowing'.  We are very happy to share with our fellow members that our book Oedipus Rex in the Genomic Era has just been published by Palgrave Macmillan, Springer Nature.   This new book:

  • Highlights existential, social, ethical, and legal concerns and dilemmas introduced by the genomic era
  • Examines Sophocles' Oedipus Rex through the prism of contemporary knowledge on genetics

  • Gives an accessible overview of recent developments in behavioural genetics for students, scholars, and professionals
