This Collection aims to celebrate the research contributions from industry researchers advancing engineering solutions to address issues of sustainability. It includes original research Articles, Reviews, Perspectives and Comments.

Example topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Addressing sustainable patterns of consumption and production in manufacturing
  • Supporting the development and adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies
  • Supporting innovation in resource-limited regions with potential for local productivity
  • Enabling more resilient infrastructure

Submitted research should include at least one author whose primary affiliation is a commercial enterprise, from small and medium‑sized companies to large multinationals.

 Why is this collection important?

This Collection supports and amplifies research related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 7, SDG 8, SDG 9 and SDG 12. By bringing together industry‑led research, the Collection highlights practical engineering approaches that contribute to sustainable development.

 Why submit to a collection?

Collections like this one help promote high-quality science. They are led by In-House Editors and supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores, and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.

 Who is involved?
