Collection Overview
Scientific Reports has launched a Guest-Edited Collection on Quantum algorithms.
While large-scale, general-purpose quantum computers are still in development, the study of quantum algorithms has been an active field for more than three decades. Quantum algorithms are designed to operate on quantum computers, providing a speed or other efficiency enhancements compared to any classical algorithm. These characteristics have made quantum algorithms key for the development of the next generation of quantum technologies; as such, they have been the focus of research in the scientific community, driven also by advances in quantum hardware and the increasing need for efficient solutions to complex problems in cryptography, optimisation, and simulation of quantum systems.
This will be a Collection of original research papers and will be open for submissions from all authors – on the condition that the manuscripts fall within the scope of the Collection and of Scientific Reports more generally. We are welcoming submissions until 12th August 2026.
