Collection Overview
Scientific Reports has launched a Guest-Edited Collection on Yeast models.
Yeast serves as a versatile model organism for investigating a broad spectrum of biological processes. This collection invites submissions that focus on cellular and molecular research using yeast as a model organism.
This will be a Collection of original research papers and will be open for submissions from all authors – on the condition that the manuscripts fall within the scope of the Collection and of Scientific Reports more generally. Narrative review articles are also welcomed, to our sister journal Scientific Reviews. We are welcoming submissions until 10th September 2026.
Why is this Collection important?
"Cellular and molecular research in yeast is important because yeasts are a significant component of the human microbiome. The changing epidemiology of yeast species and the emergence of drug resistance make it necessary to understand how these organisms acquire virulence and pathogenic potential. Studying the molecular mechanisms underlying yeast pathogenesis can help identify specific molecular markers that may be targeted for accurate diagnosis and the development of new antifungal drugs."
- Dr. Nidhi Singla, Guest Editor
Why submit to a collection?
Collections like this one help promote high-quality science. They are led by Guest Editors, who are experts in their fields, and In-House Editors and are supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.
Who is involved?
Guest Editors:
- Daniela Braconi, University of Siena, Dept. of Biotechnology, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Italy
- Victor Cid, Complutense University of Madrid, Spain
- Weilong Hao, Wayne State University, USA
- Annalisa Santucci, University of Siena, Italy
- Nidhi Singla, Government Medical College Hospital, Chandigarh, India
Internal Team:
