At Nature Communications we are excited to announce the launch of our new collection on f-block elements. This collection aims at highlighting the relevance of this research field and showcasing the latest work at various levels, ranging from fundamental research to applications of f-block elements. In particular, the collection is divided in the following four sections:
- Structure and bonding in f-block complexes
- f-elements in catalysis
- Materials
- Electronic and spin properties
All the papers are open access and we hope you enjoy browsing the collection.
Joan joined Nature Chemistry in October 2023. He obtained his PhD in chemistry from the University of Girona, investigating bioinspired metal complexes for oxygen activation and hydrocarbon oxidation. During that period, he was also a visiting student at the University of Minnesota. Joan continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Basel, where he focused on developing iron-based artificial metalloenzymes. In 2020 Joan started his editorial career at Nature Communications, where he handled manuscripts in the field of molecular inorganic chemistry and supramolecular chemistry. Joan is based in the Heidelberg office.
