npj Thermal Science and Engineering is a new journal in the Nature Portfolio dedicated to research on the control and management of heat, and the application of thermodynamics.

The first paper explores boiling as a complex heat transfer process, highlighting its significance in various industries. This Perspective emphasizes the role of advanced diagnostics in understanding bubble dynamics.

The second addresses the rising global energy demand for space cooling, projected to account for nearly one-third of electricity use in buildings. It reviews the potential of Indirect evaporative cooling systems to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional air conditioning.

npj Thermal Science and Engineering has also launched thematic collections, led by our editorial team:

The collections are open for submissions now.
