2026 Being Human Festival
Being Human Festival presents hundreds of free events across the UK and beyond. Festival events aim to celebrate and demonstrate the ways in which the humanities inspire and enrich our everyday lives, help us to understand ourselves, our relationships with others, and the challenges we face in a changing world. Being Human Festival 2026 will take place from 5 - 14 November with the theme Crossroads.
2026 Public Engagement Training Programme
The Being Human Festival team is offering a free public engagement training programme for 2026, with nine online sessions running from February to October. Registration is required, but all sessions are free to attend.
The programme is designed to support researchers in developing practical skills for engaging wider audiences with their research. Session topics include:
- Introduction to Engagement and Inclusion
- Audiences and Planning
- Promoting Public Engagement Events
- Working with Press and Media
- Event Delivery and Top Tips
The sessions will be led by expert facilitators with experience in their field, alongside members from the Being Human Festival team. While the sessions are primarily aimed at those taking part, or thinking of taking part, in Being Human Festival, but they are open to all and are also likely to be useful for anyone working in public engagement more broadly.
The details above are taken from information published on the Being Human Festival website. Further details and registration are available via the Being Human Festival training pages.
If you know of other accessible public engagement training opportunities that may be of interest to other Communities members, please share the details in the comments!
