Phenotypic evaluation of nine chance seedling date palms for fruit quality in Sindh Pakistan
Date palm is one of important horticultural crops cultivated for socioeconomic development. It is difficult to select new varieties grown via seeds called chance seedlings. This study described fruit evaluation of nine chance seedling date palms selected in twenty years.

Date palms exhibit significant genetic and phenotypic variability, which is crucial for developing superior cultivars with enhanced fruit quality and yield. This study successfully evaluated the phenotypic characteristics of nine chance seedling date palms, identifying CS7 as the top performer in fruit size and weight, thereby laying the groundwork for future breeding programs focused on improving date palm cultivars.
