I recently read an interesting review about sports positive effects on the brains ability to learn and remember:

Exercise and Emotional Memory: a Systematic Review” published by the Journal of Cognitive Enhancement.

The review, led by Paul Loprinzi, draws some interesting conclusions about how exercise can play an important role in reducing stress levels associated with emotional memories from the past. The authors state while research into this topic is relatively novel, further investigative studies will reveal more about whether the physiological state of an individual can influence the mind and how it remembers information and past events.
