About Dr. Diaa Ahmed Mohamed Ahmedien

I am a specialist in the sciences of new media arts and creative technology. My specialization lies in the area of the intersection of arts, new media studies, digital humanities, and communications, at which the interactions among art, science, and technology produce a new culture that reshapes contemporary societies. I earned a PhD (Dr. Phil.) with honors in the fields of new media studies and technology from the University of Bern and the University of Applied Sciences Bern, Switzerland. I received my BA in culture and art and my MA in media arts and culture from Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt. Practically, through my research and experimental projects, I examine several cutting-edge theoretical and empirical methodologies to foster the interdisciplinary knowledge derived from the artistic practice-based research and explore its dual functions of being a means of integrating the public into complicated scientific inquiries and as an approach to enrich the visual and visible interface of the contemporary sciences.
