I am Dr. Abdul Karim Jaafar, a professor and researcher in the Department of Soil Science at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering – University of Damascus. I hold a Ph.D. in Soil Science, with a specialization in soil fertility and plant nutrition, along with academic experience spanning several Syrian universities. I teach courses such as land reclamation, organic agriculture, and soil classification.

My research interests include soil management in fragile environments, the sustainable use of fertilizers and organic amendments, and improving the physical and chemical properties of soil using low-cost local inputs. I have published multiple peer-reviewed research papers addressing critical issues such as soil pollution, rehabilitation of degraded lands, and analysis of plant nutrient uptake efficiency. Through my work, I aim to bridge applied and laboratory-based approaches to promote sustainable agriculture, with a vision centered on providing practical solutions to enhance agricultural productivity in resource-limited environments.
