About Ayad M. Fadhil Al-Quraishi
Dr. Ayad M. Fadhil Al-Quraishi is a professor of applied remote sensing & GIS at Tishk International University, Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. He received his Ph.D. in engineering, specializing in geodetection and IT (Remote Sensing & GIS), from China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, China, in 2004. He has over 40 years of experience teaching at Iraqi and international universities. He has supervised and examined over 60 postgraduate students (Ph.D. and M.Sc.) and published more than 80 papers. Prof. Al-Quraishi has also edited five books for Springer and contributed to 23 chapters in Springer books. He is a peer reviewer for more than 60 Web of Science and Scopus-based journals and has been recognized by multiple journals as the best peer reviewer for his contributions. He participated in international projects and served as a scientific committee member, keynote speaker, and participant in 46 international conferences, workshops, and symposiums. He served as a guest editor for the journals “Remote Sensing” and “Water” published by MDPI. Prof. Al-Quraishi is also a member of the editorial boards of several international and national scientific journals. In addition, Prof. Al-Quraishi was a Fulbright visiting scholar at Michigan State University (MSU) in the United States in 2011 and a visiting professor at the University of Alabama in the United States in 2022 and 2025. Moreover, he was nominated as the Ambassador in Iraq of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE-GRSS) in 2016.
