About Ayad M. Fadhil Al-Quraishi
Dr. Ayad M. Fadhil Al-Quraishi is a professor of applied remote sensing & GIS at Tishk International University, Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. He received his Ph.D. engineering degree specializing in geodetection and IT (Remote Sensing & GIS) from China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, China in 2004. He has over 40 years of experience teaching at Iraqi and international universities. He has supervised and examined over 60 postgraduate students (Ph.D. & M.Sc.) and published over 80 papers. Prof. Al-Quraishi has also edited three books for Springer and contributed to 16 Springer book chapters. He is a peer reviewer for more than 50 Web of Science and Scopus-based journals and has been recognized for his contributions as the best peer reviewer by multiple journals. He participated in international projects and served as a scientific committee member, keynote speaker, and participant in 46 international conferences, workshops, and symposiums. He served as a guest editor for the journals “Remote Sensing” and “Water” published by MDPI. Prof. Al-Quraishi is also a member of the editorial board of several international/national scientific journals. In addition, Prof. Al-Quraishi was a Fulbright visiting scholar at Michigan State University (MSU), United States, in 2011 and a visiting professor at the University of Alabama, United States, in 2022. Moreover, he was nominated as the Ambassador in Iraq of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE-GRSS) in 2016.
