17(~29) years ago, I worked as a pharmacist in all kinds of experiments of drug analysis at an institute for drug control. Such as GC, HPLC, UV,IR,etc. Titration is the basic experiment. We couple did many different samples. We used the formula TVF for granted. But didn't think why.
12(~17) years ago, I worked as a senior engineer in analysis at an environmental monitoring center. As a freshman in cross industry, I heard a lot about CODcr and CODmn. Although use basic titration method, accurately reporting data is not easy. But COD is not up to me, so I igored it.
6(~12) years ago, I worked as a senior engineer in quality control. The National skill competition would hold. CODmn was an event. As a ready competitor, I read the GB 11892-1989 carefully, and used http://self.sinostd.com/ to find the new international standard ISO 8467-1993. When I once had a chance to watch the whole experiment process, I doubted about the complex formula in GB 11892. Maybe This was a breakthrough point in my career? I was excited .
Many quiet nights, I thought and compared. At last, we found the TVF is more simple and scientific avoiding concentration confusion. Then the paper was born.
When I searched for paper publishing, Springer nature helped me and recommed Discover Chemistry for no charge.
Thanks to my family. Thanks to my colleagues and friends.
