About Sarah Warkentin
Sarah Warkentin is a Nutritionist, specialist in Health, Nutrition and Child Nutrition, has a Masters and PhD in Sciences by the Department of Pediatrics from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), São Paulo, Brazil.
She worked as a university professor at Universidade Paulista (UNIP) in the Nutrition and Nursing Bachelor courses, besides supervising curricular internships, from 2012 to 2018.
From 2019-2022, she worked at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto (ISPUP) as a post-doctorate researcher and became a member of the Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Population Health (ITR), in the Laboratory “Eating Behaviors and Childhood Obesity”.
In 2022, Sarah joined the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) as a post-doctorate researcher, with a Beatriu de PInós fellowship. At ISGlobal, she has been involved different projects using natural-experiment studies and European birth cohorts, aiming to analyze the impact of urban and social environments on childhood weight gain.
Her current research interests are related to the investigation of environmental determinants of childhood obesity, eating behaviors, assessment of food consumption and its impact on health.
