About Shabnam Zaman
As a PhD researcher with a background in molecular evolution, human ecology and biotechnology, I thrive at the intersection where the biologically tangible meets the 0s and 1s of bioinformatics. At present, I am investigating the innumerable ways in which animals have evolved to defend themselves, often leading to unexpected parallels. My curiosity is driven by a need to understand the "why" behind the whimsical, and through the use of computational and omics-based approaches, I hope to gradually decode some of nature's most fantastical phenomena.
