About Xuhong Qiang
Dr. Xuhong Qiang is currently a tenured associate professor in Department of Structural Engineering, Tongji University, China. She received her B.Eng. and MSc degrees from Dalian University of Technology and Tongji University respectively, both with honors. After obtaining her PhD degree from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, Dr. Qiang conducted her postdoc research at Delft University of Technology. Her principal research interests are high-performance steel structures, steel structural connections, fire behavior of steel structures, fatigue performance of steel bridges, rehabilitation of existing steel structures, structural application of shape memory alloys etc. Dr. Qiang has published over 180 papers (including one Nature Portfolio journal paper and over 100 peer-reviewed international journal papers), and she has edited three academic books and three international conference proceedings related to steel structures. She achieved many honors and awards, including World's Top 2% Scientists by Elsevier, Highly Cited Chinese Researchers (PCSI TOP1%), Shanghai Oriental Talent Program (Young Academic Leader), Shenzhen Overseas High-Caliber Personnel Peacock Plan Level B, Outstanding Young Role Model in the Architectural Steel Structure Industry of China, First Prize of Science and Technology Award of China Construction Metal Structure Association(1/15), Engineering Application Award for New Civil Engineering Materials and Structures((1/1) and so on.
