Applications open: Nature Awards Inspiring Women in Science

The Inspiring Women in Science awards celebrate and support the achievements of women in science, and all those who work to encourage girls and young women to engage with STEM subjects and stay in STEM careers around the world.

 Applications are now open for the Nature Awards Inspring Women in Science. The awards celebrate and support the achievements of women in science and those who inspire the next generation of female scientists around the world.

Applications are invited in two award categories — Science Outreach and Scientific Achievement. You can also recommend an applicant.

Key dates

  • Applications open: 28th January 2026
  • Application deadline: 8th April 2026
  • Application assessment: April to August 2026
  • Successful applicants notified: September 2026
  • Winner announced: October 2026

Two winners will be awarded US$50,000, and two runners up will receive US$5,000. They will also receive an invitation to an award ceremony in London or New York, with accommodation and travel expenses covered. The award also includes coverage on nature.com, and mentoring opportunities through The Estée Lauder Companies.
