Call for papers: Plant Membrane Biology
Published in Plant Science
What is this collection about?
Plant cells are surrounded by a cell wall and plasma membrane, which provide protection and coordinate communication between the cell and its environment. The endomembrane system organizes important intracellular activities, including protein sorting, trafficking and membrane remodelling. In this cross-journal Collection, Nature Communications, Communications Biology and Scientific Reports welcome research on plant membranes, their chemical composition, transporters, channels, receptors, ligands and enzymes, as well as the mechanisms that regulate molecular exchange, signalling and cellular homeostasis.
Why is this collection important?
Plant membranes are central to growth, development, stress responses and interactions with the environment. Advances in understanding membrane structure, trafficking and signalling are helping researchers uncover how plants regulate nutrient uptake, respond to environmental challenges and maintain cellular function. This Collection provides a forum for bringing together developments across these areas and supports research related to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2): End Hunger.
Why submit to a collection?
Collections like this one help attract and promote high-quality science. They are led by internal In-House Editors and supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores, and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.
Who is involved?
Nature Communications is edited by in-house professional editors.
Communications Biology is edited by both in-house professional editors and Editorial Board Members.
Scientific Reports is managed by in-house professional editors and edited by Editorial Board Members.
Our editors work closely together to ensure the quality of published papers and consistency in author experience.
