What is this collection about?

Transport is the largest end-use of energy in developed countries, and the fastest-growing end-use of energy in developing countries, incorporating modes such as aviation, shipping, public transport, cycling, and electric vehicles. Making transport more sustainable is therefore essential in the face of ongoing climate change. Sustainable transport brings with it wide-ranging benefits including improved air quality, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, enhanced economic growth, and improved social wellbeing.

With this cross-journal Collection, we invite manuscripts that highlight work related to advancing sustainable transport to shape the future of mobility. Communications Sustainability, Communications Earth and EnvironmentNature Communications, and npj Sustainable Mobility and Transport will consider original Articles, Reviews and Perspectives. Scientific Reports will consider original Articles.

Why is this collection important?

This is a cross-journal collection between Communications Sustainability, Communications Earth and Environment, Nature Communications, and npj Sustainable Mobility and Transport, and Scientific Reports. Authors are welcome to submit to any of the participating journals. All manuscripts published in the collection are hosted on a dedicated nature portfolio portal, giving articles high visibility beyond the journal they are published in.
