Alongside sharing your post on your own social media networks, the Communities team are also on the lookout for posts to feature on Springer Nature’s social media channels. Featuring on our wider social media channels is a fantastic way to boost engagement and increase the visibility of your blog post; across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and more.
Here are some things you can do when writing your blog post to increase the chances of your post being shared across our wider social media:
Start with a short and clear summary
Begin your post with a straightforward and concise summary in the introduction. This helps our audience grasp the key point quickly and want to find out more.
Write in clear and accessible language
Ensure your blog post is engaging and that the language is easier to understand than you might typically see in a research article. Our audience comes from a broad background and are at varying stages in their career, so try to ensure you explain complex concepts, avoid jargon and acronyms as much as possible.
Include plenty of high-quality visuals
Using images throughout your blog is a good way to break up the text and keep the audience engaged with your post. Aim to include two or more images per post that are relevant to your research, and don’t forget to add alternative text too!
Use videos and gifs for engagement
Video and gifs are highly effective for explaining research and catching attention on social media platforms. You can find out more about adding videos to your post here.
Avoid complex figures
If you feel it is necessary to include figures from your article, please make sure they are simple and easy to interpret. Please always include descriptive captions and credit the creators for all your images and videos. If you aren’t sure if you can use a certain image or video in your post, please refer to our Community Guidelines or get in touch with us for advice.
Promote engagement
Encourage readers to like, share or comment on your post. Engagement with the audience helps your post maximum exposure and increases its chance of being featured more prominently.
By implementing these tips, you maximise your post’s visibility and increase its reach to a broader audience. If you have any questions or need advice on including specific images or videos, please don’t hesitate to contact the team.
