I am delighted to announce that the recently launched Journal of Precision Health, dedicated to exploring the intersection of translational and precision medicine, is open for submissions!

Precision medicine, as described by the National Institutes of Health, is "an innovative approach that takes into account individual differences in patients' genes, environments, and lifestyles" to inform patient treatment.

Journal of Precision Health aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration across personalized medicine and to facilitate the translation of research into improved patient care. To achieve this, the journal will focus on areas such as biomarker discovery, clinical genomics, targeted therapies, pharmacogenomics, diagnostic innovations, ethical considerations, and computational approaches in precision medicine.

Journal of Precision Health is also the first new launch as part of the translational medicine family, created around the well-established Journal of Translational Medicine – a broad scope journal with specialized sections that covers many disciplines across translational medicine.

Prof Rameen Shakur

Professor Rameen Shakur, Editor-in-Chief, provides the editorial leadership for Journal of Precision Health. He is an academic clinician scientist in cardiology and currently, the Professor of Genomics and Precision Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Brighton. Prof Shakur is also the Director of the Brighton Integrative Genomics (BIG) Unit and was the Founding Director of the Centre for Precision Health and Translational Medicine

We are excited to build a journal that can serve as a valuable resource for researchers, clinicians, policy makers, and stakeholders interested in the transformative potential of precision and translational medicine in healthcare.

We look forward to publishing our first article soon!
