The Journal of Medical Imaging and Interventional Radiology invites early career researchers working at the forefront of the medical imaging and interventional radiology field to submit their latest work to the Collection "Rising Stars in Research".
This article collection welcomes Original Research Articles and Review Articles authored by Early Career Researchers (PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, or medical residents) on any topic within the scope of the Journal of Medical Imaging and Interventional Radiology.
- The corresponding author of the submitted manuscript must be no older than 35 years of age at the time of submission.
- Applicants must include a declaration confirming their eligibility in the cover letter accompanying their submission. All manuscripts that fall within the journal’s scope and meet the required standards of scientific soundness will be sent for initial peer review, irrespective of perceived novelty. Submissions will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review process, with the collection overseen and edited by the Editor-in-Chief.

Publication fee waivers will be awarded to the first 5 eligible applicants who submit their manuscript by 31 December 2026, subject to acceptance following peer review by 31 March 2027. Additional waivers may be granted at the discretion of the journal and subject to availability.
- Successful applicants will be invited to join the journal’s Editorial Board.
- In addition, successful applicants will also be invited to apply for the role of Junior Guest Editor for a new collection planned for 2027. Applicants will be required to submit a proposal for a prospective article collection, which they would oversee under the mentorship of a senior member of the Editorial Board. All proposals will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief.
