About Hao Chen
I received my master's degree in environmental engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2016. After graduation, I worked in the industry for six years, primarily overseeing international environmental engineering projects focused on DeNox, De-dust, and DeSOx systems for coal-fired power plants in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2023, I joined Clemson University to pursue my Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Earth Science.
My Ph.D. research focuses on the lifecycle environmental impact and economic performance of advanced composites manufacturing, helping technology developers achieve sustainable manufacturing. I enjoy mountain climbing, particularly snowy mountains, hiking, and playing basketball. I've set a goal to climb three more mountains over 5,000 meters in the next five years.
