About Marios Andreou
I'm a fourth-year PhD student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I also work as a Research Assistant in the research group of my advisor, Prof. Nan Chen.
My research interests lie at the intersection of Applied and Computational Mathematics, particularly in the study of chaotic and turbulent dynamical systems that are described by SPDEs and arise in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Climate Science, Fluid Mechanics, and Nonlinear Geophysics. My work typically involves tools from Statistics and Probability, both applied and theoretical, such as information theory, data assimilation, uncertainty quantification, machine and deep learning, and optimisation.
I hold an MA in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics, with a focus on Applied Mathematics, from the University of Cyprus.
