About Nunzio
Nunzio Vicario is Assistant Professor of Physiology at the Department of Biomedical and Biotechnological Sciences at the University of Catania. He completed his International Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 2017 at the Department of Biomedical and Biotechnological Sciences, University of Catania and at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge (UK, 2016-2017). He has been visiting Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Pathophysiology, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) in 2020 and 2021. His research interests lie in the field of neuroinflammation and neuroncology, with a particular focus on the cross-talk between cells and on gap junctions-mediated intercellular communication (GJIC).
