About Pavla Tichá

Pavla Tichá, MD, MA, PhD, is a clinician-scientist bridging clinical medicine and biomedical research. She holds appointments at the Department of Plastic Surgery, University Hospital Královské Vinohrady, and the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, in Prague, Czech Republic.

Following her medical and doctoral training, she pursued postdoctoral research at Stanford University, where she investigated the mechanisms of maxillofacial bone regeneration and remodeling. She subsequently joined the Center for Bioengineering and Tissue Regeneration at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where her research focused on the molecular mechanisms driving breast cancer progression and metastasis. Clinical training at Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus Dresden and Uniklinik RWTH Aachen further strengthened her translational perspective. Most recently, she completed the Clinical Science Scholars Program at Harvard Medical School.

Integrating clinical practice with fundamental and translational research, she aims to investigate clinically relevant questions while maintaining a strong focus on the underlying biological mechanisms.
