About Shota Nishitani

The goal of my research is to elucidate the neurobiological basis of the influences of child maltreatment and trauma exposures on their mental health, and of the pathology of neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders, thereby developing biomarkers that will contribute to their diagnosis, intervention, and treatment. As the approach to this goal, I work on the genome-wide analysis of epigenome, brain MRI analysis, or combining both of them, capturing intermediate phenotypes of psychological and psychiatric traits and identifying their risk factors.
