What is this collection about?

This Collection focuses on photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical systems that integrate oxidation and reduction reactions within a single platform. Emphasis is placed on strategies that replace sacrificial reagents with paired reactions, enabling the simultaneous synthesis of fuels and value-added chemicals.

Topics of interest include the rational design of photocatalysts, heterojunctions, single-atom catalysts, photoelectrochemical cells, and tandem systems that promote efficient charge separation and directional charge transport for coupled redox chemistry. The Collection welcomes studies that integrate the conversion of abundant feedstocks, such as H2O, CO2, N2-containing molecules, CH4, and biomass-derived substrates, into value-added products through synergistic oxidation and reduction pathways.
