I am a consultant psychiatrist and Head of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Department at Al Masarra Hospital, Ministry of Health, Oman. I serve as an author, editor, and reviewer for academic journals and book projects, with clinical and research interests in rehabilitation psychiatry, clozapine and treatment-resistant psychosis, community mental health, and medical education. My current academic work focuses on simulation-based education in psychiatry training, digital mental health service delivery, and mental health systems development in the Middle East.

 Dr. Salim Al-Huseini is a Specialist Psychiatrist at Al Masarra Hospital, Ministry of Health in Oman. He holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Sultan Qaboos University. He has completed his psychiatry residency training at the Oman Medical Specialty Board, earning a speciality certificate in psychiatry. Additionally, he has successfully passed the Arab Board exam in psychiatry and obtained a speciality certificate from the Arab Board of Health Specializations. Dr Al-Huseini is currently serving as a clinical fellow in Rehabilitation Psychiatry at the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Al-Huseini is interested in research, having (co)authored over 45 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for several esteemed journals. His primary areas of research focus encompass mental health, suicide and suicide prevention, treatment-resistant depression, psychosis, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
