A set of free public engagement training opportunities has been shared via Being Human Festival’s 2026 Training Programme and I wanted to pass them on to others in the Community, particularly researchers working in the Arts and Humanities.

2026 Being Human Festival

Being Human Festival presents hundreds of free events across the UK and beyond. Festival events aim to celebrate and demonstrate the ways in which the humanities inspire and enrich our everyday lives, help us to understand ourselves, our relationships with others, and the challenges we face in a changing world. Being Human Festival 2026 will take place from 5 - 14 November with the theme Crossroads

 

2026 Public Engagement Training Programme

The Being Human Festival team is offering a free public engagement training programme for 2026, with nine online sessions running from February to October. Registration is required, but all sessions are free to attend.

The programme is designed to support researchers in developing practical skills for engaging wider audiences with their research. Session topics include:

The sessions will be led by expert facilitators with experience in their field, alongside members from the Being Human Festival team. While the sessions are primarily aimed at those taking part, or thinking of taking part, in Being Human Festival, but they are open to all and are also likely to be useful for anyone working in public engagement more broadly.
