Carbon dioxide electrochemical conversion to added-value products still remain an encouraging and ecofriendly strategy to achieve sustainable carbon recycling 🌱♻️.

Within the European project #SunCoChem, the #PoliTo researchers investigated the role of imidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs) as promising electrolytes for electrochemical cells. By comparing several and different ILs, the role of the anion and the cation was explored both from an experimental and a theoretical point of view.
