About Karen Baab
I am a paleoanthropologist whose work focuses on systematics and evolutionary history of Pleistocene Homo. I am interested in a deeper characterization of within-population and broader temporospatial patterns of craniofacial variation. My work includes multiple approaches to understanding the underlying factors generating morphological variation including neutral processes and functional adaptation. I have applied a wide range of quantitative techniques to address these questions particularly virtual reconstruction, landmark-based shape analysis and evolutionary quantitative genetics.
