Call for papers: Climate dynamics of the Southern Ocean
Published in Earth & Environment
What is this collection about?
The Southern Ocean plays a key role in adjusting climate through local dynamics and teleconnections. However, the study of this region is limited due to scarce in-situ observations and eddy-parameterized climate models. In recent years, the growing availability of moorings, high-resolution satellite products and multi global eddy-resolved models has created new opportunities to advance our understanding of the Southern Ocean and its physical processes.
With this cross-journal Collection, the editors invite manuscripts that highlight ocean small-scale dynamics and the physical role of the Southern Ocean on regional and global climate change. Nature Communications, Nature Geoscience, Communications Earth and Environment, npj Climate and Atmospheric Science will consider original Articles, Reviews and Perspectives. Scientific Reports will consider original Articles.
Why submit to a collection?
Collections like this one help promote high-quality science. They are led by In-House Editors who are experts in their fields and supported by a dedicated team of Commissioning Editors and Managing Editors at Springer Nature. Collection manuscripts typically see higher citations, downloads, and Altmetric scores, and provide a one-stop-shop on a cutting-edge topic of interest.
Who is involved?
This is a cross-journal Collection involving Nature Communications, Nature Geoscience, Communications Earth & Environment, npj Climate and Atmospheric Science, and Scientific Reports. Authors are welcome to submit to any of the participating journals. All manuscripts published in the collection are hosted on a dedicated nature portfolio portal, giving articles high visibility beyond the journal they are published in.
How can I submit my paper?
