What is this collection about?  

The concept of the exposome aims to assess and account for the entirety of environmental exposures, including but not restricted to chemical, physical, and biological factors, across an individual's lifetime. It is a promising avenue in environmental epidemiology that has already improved our understanding of the factors influencing human health.

Through this cross-journal Collection ‘Exposome in health’, the editors at Nature Communications, Communications Health, Communications Medicine, and Scientific Reports aim to bring together the latest research on the exposome and human health. We welcome epidemiological, conceptual, methodological, mechanistic, large-scale, and policy-focused studies that advance our understanding of the relationship between the exposome and human health. We also welcome work including historically underrepresented populations.

Nature Communications, Communications Health, and Communications Medicine will consider original Articles, Reviews, and Perspectives. Scientific Reports will consider original Articles.
