What is this collection about?

Climate risks do not occur in isolation. They can interact and spread across environmental, social and economic systems, creating impacts that are difficult to predict and manage. As climate change intensifies, there is a growing need to understand how these risks arise, combine, and affect people and places.

This cross-journal Collection focuses on complex climate risks, including cascading impacts, compound events, and tipping-point risks. It brings together research on how to reduce vulnerability and build resilience across sectors and scales, from facilities and cities to regional and global systems. The research explores a range of responses, including adaptation, decision-support tools, governance, finance, and climate justice.

Communications Sustainability, Communications Earth & Environment, Nature Water, Nature Communications, npj Climate Action, and Scientific Reports invite submissions that improve understanding of complex climate risks and how they can be managed.

 

Why is this collection important?

This is a cross-journal collection between Communications Sustainability, Communications Earth & Environment, Nature Water, Nature Communications, npj Climate Action, and Scientific Reports. Authors are welcome to submit to any of the participating journals. All manuscripts published in the collection are hosted on a dedicated nature portfolio portal, giving articles high visibility beyond the journal they are published in.
