What is this collection about? 

Urban landscapes are important determinants of health, influencing both physical and mental health. Walkable neighborhoods, safe public spaces, and access to parks encourage active lifestyles and can positively affect physical and mental health. Whereas poorly planned urban areas may expose residents to environmental pollution, structural barriers and offer limited recreational opportunities, thus, negatively affecting health. Urban design also influences health equity, in terms of safety and access to green spaces, healthy food, and healthcare services.

With this Collection, the editors at Communications Health  invite manuscripts that explore integration of health considerations into urban planning in creating healthier, more sustainable, and inclusive cities for growing populations. We will consider original Articles, Reviews, Comments, and Perspectives
