About Gabriela Argumedo

I was born in Mexico City, Mexico and moved to the UK in 2015 to pursue postgraduate studies. I completed my PhD in Health at the University of Bath in 2019. In 2020 I joined to the National Institute of Public Health (Mexico) as a research fellow. In 2020 I was promoted to Professor by the National Autonomous University of Mexico. I truly enjoy participating in public engagement as part of my professional actvities. 

My research focus is on healthy behaviours promotion -mainly physical ativity- and health literacy in school settings.  I am author and co-author of more than 40  publications and book chapters in the field. 

I serve as a National Representative of the UNESCO Chair Global Health & Education in Mexico.  I am also a member of the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, the International Society for Physical Activity and Health and the Internatinal Health Literacy Association. I am a National Researcher (Level I) in Mexico.
