Hydroquinone redox mediator enhances the photovoltaic performance of chlorophyll-based bio-inspired solar cells
Excited state dynamics of chlorophyll derivatives applied in bio-solar cells are not fully understood. Here, time-resolved absorption study on these derivatives reveal enhanced lifetimes of radical species in the presence of hydroquinone would further enhance the corresponding device performance.
Observing atomic movements of a roaming reaction
Roaming is a reaction mechanism generating molecular products via wondering motions. The atomic movements during the roaming have never been directly observed. Here, we explore the atomic movements of a roaming-mediate isomerization using femtosecond X-ray liquidography.
The Molecules that were Able to Start Translation
The origin of translation is one of the great mysteries of prebiotic evolution. We present an experimental system that shows how the earliest steps could have occurred.
