The field of molecular and cellular biology is vast and ever-expanding.  It encompasses several cutting-edge experimental and theoretical methods used to uncover biochemical and biophysical mechanisms underlying cellular processes and the consequences of their perturbation.  In the recent past, biophysical and biochemical methods have become more specialized and sophisticated, and therefore, the need arises for a proper understanding of these techniques to arrive at meaningful outcomes.

The major thrust of Biochemical and biophysical methods in molecular and cellular biology is to focus not only on the fundamentals but also on the applicability of several new-age biochemical and biophysical techniques in molecular and cell biology.  Special emphasis has been placed on providing an up-to-date and comprehensive description of the selected methods.  The primary objective is to provide the readers with a very lucid and cogent understanding of these techniques in substantial detail.

The book also includes, where appropriate, the dos and don‘ts as well as practical tips about procedures and equipment.  Here each individual book chapter presented an up-to-date and broad overview of several sophisticated experimental and theoretical tools used in molecular and cellular biology such as Mass spectrometry, Microscopy techniques, Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET), Z-scan, Fluorescence correlation and cross-correlation spectroscopy, Dynamic light scattering (DLS), X-ray crystallography, Total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy, Cryo-EM, NMR spectroscopy, Optical tweezers, Magnetic tweezers, Raman spectroscopy, Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Optogenetics, bioinformatics, etc.

The contributing authors hold dignitary positions in reputed public and government Institutions worldwide.  Overall, this book will serve as an excellent introduction for students (as a textbook) and for researchers (as a reference book).
