About ALAIN YAMBA
Driven by a strong passion for pathogen surveillance, I bring a vision rooted in an integrated, scientific, and community-centred public health approach. My ambition is to become a national and regional expert in genomic surveillance, strengthening local capacities for detecting, characterizing, and anticipating emerging infectious threats in tropical settings, with a global health perspective.
My experience with health-focused NGOs working at the community level enables me to bridge laboratory priorities with field realities. In the medium term, I aim to contribute actively to medical and public health training, lead applied research projects, support academic capacity building, and promote stronger alignment between research, health policies, and the needs of the most vulnerable populations.
