Dr. Rasha Abdelsalam-Elshenawy is a clinical pharmacist with 20 years of experience in pharmacy practice, development, antimicrobial stewardship, patient safety, and public health. Certified in Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS), her career is distinguished by a steadfast commitment to optimising medicine use, ensuring patient safety, and fighting antimicrobial resistance (AMR). She holds a two-year certification in teaching and learning and research methodology, which enhances her ability to educate healthcare professionals on best practices.

Her leadership roles include developing a five-year AMS strategic plan, serving as the director of FADIC Antimicrobial Stewardship School, and contributing to the CDC AMR challenge. Motivated by a mission to mitigate the global AMR burden, she focuses on spearheading AMS initiatives, improving antibiotic prescribing practices, and strengthening public health education.
