Cryo-EM Structure of Lipopolysaccharide Transporter LptDE Opens the Door to Antibiotics Design
Bacteria display very different biochemistry from human cells, which can be exploited for designing new antibiotics with less side-effects. Detailed insights into the architecture and function of LptDE transporter complexes has been made possible by new Cryo-EM structures.
Chemiluminescent screening of specific hybridoma cells via a proximity-rolling circle activated enzymatic switch
A 1-day homogeneous chemiluminescent screening protocol for specific hybridoma cells via a proximity-rolling circle activated enzymatic switch (P-RCAES) strategy has been developed. This CL assay enables the screening of specific hybridoma cells on conventional 96-well plate at single-cell level.
Cobalt(III) N-enolate carbene radicals with a protective function
Porphyrin ligand modification by acceptor-acceptor iodonium ylides is not necessarily a dead-end catalyst deactivation pathway, but can actually have a useful protective function by slowing-down deactivation pathways of the metalloradical cobalt(II)-tetraphenylporphyrin catalyst.
Chemicals from CO2 + green electricity: The electrified synthesis of ethylene oxide
We devise a new, record-efficient, system for the electrified synthesis of ethylene oxide from CO2. We do so by developing a new electrocatalyst that significantly increases the system’s selectivity towards the production of ethylene oxide, with a faradaic efficiency of 35%.
