Social Science Matters

Championing original and authoritative research

For over 10 years, Social Science Matters has offered a platform for researchers, Editors and practitioners to discuss developments in the social sciences community and promote research impact.

Launched with the publication of Why the Social Sciences Matter (2015) and brought up to date with the new edition of Why The Social Sciences Matter: Now More Than Ever (2025),  the campaign marks Palgrave’s commitment to championing original and authoritative research within the Social Sciences.

The Social Science Matters blogs reflect the diversity and scope of current research, highlight key challenges, and suggest innovative solutions. They illustrate the indispensability of the social sciences and the rigour they can inspire in our understanding of the world.
