About Mar Sobral

I am an associate professor specializing in ecology and evolution in the Department of Geography at USC, Spain. I also have the pleasure of serving as the associate editor-in-chief of Ecological Monographs. Previously, I had the opportunity to work in the U.S. (Stanford) and France (CNRS).

My research is driven by a passion for two main areas: evolutionary ecology, particularly the role of plasticity, and understanding how global change affects biodiversity, especially in relation to the carbon cycle. Beyond research, I love engaging in science outreach (enjoy this video) and advocating for gender equality in academia through initiatives like WISE
