About Africa I. Flores-Anderson
Africa Flores-Anderson has 17 years of experience in satellite remote sensing sciences. She is a PhD Candidate and Vanier Scholar at McGill University. She is also a National Geographic Explorer, Google Developer Expert, and Research Scientist at SERVIR, a joint NASA and USAID initiative. She has expertise in processing and analyzing satellite data for ecosystem analysis. Her research focuses on water quality monitoring and forecasting, and land cover monitoring using a variety of satellite datasets. In 2020 she was recognized as Geospatial Woman Champion of the Year for her work in the use and dissemination of Earth Observation data and geospatial technologies to enhance the capacities of countries around the world to manage their natural resources.
