About David Jones

Dr David Jones is a lecturer in sustainable organic synthesis at University College Cork, Ireland. Having completed PhD studies and postdoctoral work in Ireland, David moved to work on the development of asymmetric methodology and natural product synthesis at the University of Edinburgh, UK under the supervision of Prof Andy Lawrence. A key feature of David's work at Edinburgh was in the strategic use of dimerisation reactions to achieve the synthesis of complex molecules. In 2024, David began his independent research career at the School of Chemistry, University College Cork, where his work focused on the synthesis and application of organophosphorus compounds.
