About Ji-Won Kim

Dr. Ji-Won Kim is a climate scientist at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California Institute of Technology (Caltech). His expertise lies in the El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon, anchored in the tropical Pacific, and recognized as Earth’s most potent year-to-year climate variability. Dr. Kim has conducted extensive research on the complex behaviors of ENSO, unravelling its underlying mechanisms. His objectives are to provide comprehensive and innovative insights that may challenge conventional perspectives and propose a more robust theory or mechanism for ENSO, ultimately improving its predictability and facilitating preparations for its anticipated climate impacts on a global scale.
